Weather

Introduction

There are many aspects to weather when it comes to sailing and as we cannot control it regardless of what predictions are telling us you need to be prepared for all the weather you are likely to experince for the time of year you are sailing in a particular area. I will break down weather into a few different catagories listed below to help clarify some of the different aspects.

Reading the weather

This is interpretting the signs around you to find what the immediate weather will be. By keeping a "weather eye out" you will identify the immediate weather changes which will enable you to adjust your boat accordingly in particular reduce sail before it becomes to windy or seek shelter. A big part of this is comparing the weather you see now with what you had in the last few hours.
